Brief history and milestones
Biomanufacturing Solutions was established in January 2024. Since then, we assembled a team of passionate and experienced life science and healthcare professionals, launched client projects, and delivered custom solutions for clients across North America. In September 2024, we completed our first international project, solidifying our global presence and commitment to excellence.
Biomanufacturing Solutions was founded after more than a decade of expertise in stem cells, cryogenics, and regenerative medicine. This marked the beginning of our mission to provide cutting-edge solutions to the biotech industry.
We built a team of highly skilled professionals, united by their commitment to solving the complex challenges faced by our clients.
Strengthening our North American roots: Focusing initially on North America, we laid the foundation for growth in this region by building strong partnerships and gaining a deep understanding of the market dynamics. This strategic approach paved the way for our success.
A significant milestone— The launch of simultaneous multiple initiatives marked the official start of our impactful work in the biotech industry.
We delivered a major project ahead of schedule, showing off our commitment to excellence in the process. This international laboratory is now operational and equipped to drive technological advancement in the region. We continue to collaborate with the client and promote their ongoing success.
The official launch of Biomanufacturing Solutions, marked by the introduction of our website and social media platforms, along with participations in industry networking events further expanded our presence and reach in the biotech sector.

Nazish Ahmed, Ph.D.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Nazish Ahmed, the founder of Biomanufacturing Solutions, brings over a decade of experience in leading teams to operational excellence within the healthcare industry. With a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Engineering and extensive expertise in stem cells, cryogenics, and regenerative medicine, Dr. Ahmed has a proven track record in facilitating cross-functional collaborations and promoting regulatory compliance. She has coordinated multiple mergers and acquisitions, launched major process improvement initiatives, and implemented quality management systems in compliance with cGMP standards. Dr. Ahmed also has firsthand experience in designing laboratories, managing build-outs, and qualifying newly built labs. Her 15 peer-reviewed publications, and her ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes, are evidence of her commitment to advancing biotechnology. Fluent in multiple languages, she leverages her diverse skillset to drive innovation and deliver tailored solutions for clients.
Outside of work, Dr. Ahmed enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking, kayaking, and camping. She considers the Everest Base Camp trek one of her toughest achievements.
Dave Chin, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Dave Chin is an accomplished finance and accounting professional with extensive experience in high-impact industries. During his time at Bell Canada, he oversaw financial operations for Bell TV and Media, while also leading initiatives in transportation and heavy construction. His visionary approach to setting global auditing standards has helped preserve the security and reliability of e-commerce transactions worldwide.
Outside of his career, Dave is a dedicated martial artist, holding a black belt in karate with plans to advance to the next level in the near future. He is also passionate about music and has a collection of acoustic and electric guitars. Whether he’s solving complex financial challenges or playing a melody, Dave’s creativity and dedication shine through.
Simone Salgado
Customer Success Lead
Simone Salgado focuses on client success, bringing over 15 years of experience from dermatology, family medicine, and plastic surgery. At Biomanufacturing Solutions, she guarantees that client needs are prioritized at every stage—from the initial consultation to the final reporting. Her ability to work efficiently under pressure, combined with her deep understanding of the highly regulated healthcare industry, is one of the keys to our clients’ success.
Over the years, Simone has excelled in navigating complex medical environments, from scheduling surgeries and managing patient records to promoting regulatory compliance. For example, Simone played a pivotal role in the digital conversion of 30+ years of medical records in compliance with the College of Physicians of Ontario—showcasing her proficiency in EMR systems and her attention to detail in the process.
Simone is a former firefighter and fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Outside of work, you can find her doing Capoeira or Aerial Yoga.
Michael Balanovskiy
Business Development Leader
Michael Balanovskiy is a business development leader with extensive experience across the medical device and
life sciences industries. He has led commercial expansion efforts, bringing advanced medical technologies into new markets and building sustainable pipelines through strategic partnerships and client development. His background also includes work in cryogenics and biorepository operations, where he managed clinical samples, laboratory processes, and compliance frameworks. This combination of commercial and technical expertise enables him to bridge scientific innovation with practical market execution.
Michael holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Guelph and has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), providing both scientific grounding and a financial perspective to support negotiation, forecasting, and value creation.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys staying active through soccer and martial arts, and finds balance in cooking and playing chess.
Prerna Mistry
Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Prerna Mistry is a seasoned regulatory compliance professional with over seven years of experience spanning the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and reproductive tissue industries. At Biomanufacturing Solutions, she leverages her expertise to develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs that enhance operational efficiency and uphold the highest standards of integrity. Prerna’s background includes leading internal and supplier audits as a Certified Quality Auditor (ASQ), where her efforts have significantly reduced non-conformances and driven continuous process improvements.
Throughout her career, Prerna has successfully managed regulatory submissions, developed and updated SOPs, and ensured ongoing compliance with Health Canada, FDA, ISO, AABB, AATB, FACT, and ICH guidelines. She brings a proactive approach to risk management by conducting comprehensive risk assessments and CAPA investigations that strengthen product quality and safety. Her ability to collaborate across R&D, manufacturing, and quality control teams has been instrumental in integrating regulatory compliance into every stage of product development and manufacturing workflows.
Prerna holds a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and maintains her credentials as a Certified Quality Auditor through the American Society for Quality (ASQ). Outside of her professional role, she enjoys hiking nature trails and practicing daily meditation—activities that reflect her focus, perseverance, and commitment to continuous personal and professional growth.
Reem Abbas
Quality Assurance and ISO 9001 Specialist
Reem Abbas is a dedicated quality assurance professional with extensive experience in biological products, pharmaceuticals, radiopharmaceuticals, and medical devices. With a strong background in regulatory compliance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Quality Management Systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, Reem helps to maintain the highest quality standards throughout the manufacturing and lab processing of medical products.
Reem excels at conducting audits, investigating quality issues, implementing quality management systems, and facilitating compliance training programs to improve product safety.
Outside of work, she is a proud mother of two and a fitness enthusiast, regularly working out at the gym to maintain a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.
Duygu Tasdan
Digital Strategy Consultant
Duygu Tasdan is the founder of Canada Digital Market Inc. and serves as a strategic marketing partner to Biomanufacturing Solutions Inc. (BMS). At BMS, she leads digital strategy, content development, and brand positioning, ensuring that every message meets regulatory standards while effectively engaging life sciences and biotech audiences. Her work contributes to BMS’s visibility, credibility, and business growth across Canadian and international markets.
A former biologist turned marketing strategist, Duygu brings over a decade of multidisciplinary experience in sales, marketing, and scientific research. With years spent in microbiology and biochemistry labs at leading hospitals, she now uses her scientific expertise to help biotech and life sciences companies translate their complex value into compelling narratives.
Known for her high energy, strategic mindset, and meticulous attention to detail, Duygu combines vision with discipline. She is a mentor with the George Brown College Alumni Mentorship Program and an active member of the Canadian Marketing Association.
Beyond her professional work, Duygu enjoys yoga, dancing, and is currently learning to play the violin and roller skate.
